Shortly after placing a fire under control at 513 So. 17th Street, Car 5 was advised by Communications that they were receiving multiple calls for another structure. Box 134 was tapped out at 0350 for 440 Minor Street with a loom up.

Just after 02:00 this morning, Engine 3, Ladder 1 and Car 3 were dispatched to an Automatic Fire Alarm at the Speckled Hen Restaurant at 30 So. 4th Street. Arriving on location, Engine 3 noted police activity in the block and then reported a car into the front of the restaurant.

Firefighters responded to a box alarm shortly after 14:00 this afternoon. Box 83 was dispatched for a reported structure fire near the intersection of No 6th and Robeson Streets. Arriving apparatus reported the correct address to be in the 1000 block of No 6th Street.

Communications began to receive calls around 1500 hrs reporting smoke from a dwelling in the 300 block of carpenter street. Box 124 was tapped for 342 Carpeter, bringing companies to a structure at the EOR with flames showing from the 3rd floor rear windows.

At 2014 an accident was reported at the intersection of 13th & Union streets in the city's northeast. A rescue assignment was sent and found a vehicle accident with entrapment. Ladder 3 began initial operations of removing the roof of the car.

C platoon had their hands busy this afternoon when Box 29 was struck. Around 1153 communications reported a kitchen fire with possible entrapment at 161 Clymer street. As companies began to arrive, 2nd Deputy Chief Sands requested a 2nd alarm at 1158.

M603 was dispatched early this morning for a cell phone report of a man lying on Neversink street. The caller gave vague info as he was passing through and did not stop. Upon arrival M603 found a male lying along the roadway straight down from a railroad overpass.

Around 1900 hours communications began receiving multiple phone calls from an apartment building on the city's north side. Box 53 was tapped immediately afterwards for 1609 North 9th Street. During response reports of several occupants in and outside the building with breathing difficulty.

First responders kept a drainage ditch from becoming a watery grave for one lucky pooch. It happened in Reading late yesterday. Police say a passer-by called them after seeing the dog stuck in the drainage ditch at Raymond and Delta Avenues.

A brush assignment was dispatched today at 1630 hours for what was thought to be a small brush fire on the Neversink Mountain. As companies began to arrive a large volume of fire was observed on the southern slope off of south 9th street.

At 1740, E1-B2-B3- and C5 were turned out for a reported "mountain fire" in the Neversink Mountain called in from the Oakbrook section of the city. Communications reported not having any visuals on the mountain and numerous calls were being received for the 1100 block of E.
