Kitchen Fire on Pine Street

22:31 hrs / 324 Pine Street / Box 05-01 / C Platoon

The box was transmitted for a report of smoke from the first floor of the address noted.  Cars 4 (J. Stoudt) and 9 (Glore) arrived with smoke in the building.  Firefighters forced entry into the first floor apartment to find a working fire in the kitchen.  Car 4 assumed command as a 1-3/4" handline was stretched from Engine 3, which quickly knocked-down the fire.  The fire originated on the stovetop and extended to the kitchen cabinetry.  All searches proved negative.  The fire was placed under control at 22:45 hrs.  The occupants of the first floor apartments were temporarily displaced.

Rescue 1, Medic 4, Car 4 (J. Stoudt), Car 9 (Glore)

* While taking-up from the fire, firefighters discovered a curbside trash receptacle on fire at the intersection of S. 3rd & Pine Street.  The fire was extinguished by the crew of Engine 3*
