Vehicle Fire Extends Into Row of Garages

0512 Hours / 225 Walnut Street / Box 0301 / B Platoon

Companies were dispatched to the area of N 2nd Street and Park Street for a reported vehicle fire next to a structure. E3 arrived on scene and reported a vehicle fully involved with extension into a row of garages. C5 arrived on scene and confirmed the engines report and advised dispatch it appeared there was extension into 2 garages to the rear of 225 Walnut Street. E3 stretched a 2.5" leader line down the alley and connected a 1.75" hand line to extinguish the fire. Ladder companies went to the roof to check further extension and to overhaul. Crews stopped the fire from extending into more than the 2 garages. C5 placed the fire under control at 0525 hours. OFM was called to investigate.
