Companies Extricate One at N. 12th & Spring
Sat. Sep 19th 2020

23:20 hrs / N. 12th & Spring Streets / C Platoon

As companies were operating at a motor vehicle accident with one vehicle rolled-over at Lancaster Avenue and Morgantown Road, Rescue 1 was released to respond to N. 12th & Spring Streets for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment.  Medic 2 arrived on scene with three passenger vehicles involved, two of which were in a T-bone type collision.  While the passenger of the initial vehicle struck had self-extricated, the driver was still confined in the vehicle as there was significant intrusion on the driver's side door.  Companies placed the Hurst eDRAULICS tools in service to remove the driver's side door, thereby freeing the driver who was treated and transported by RFD EMS.  Companies also covered fluids on the roadway.  The initial striking vehicle had fled the scene, but was later located by RPD several blocks away.
