Multiple public safety departments were on hand for a mock bus disaster drill sponsored by the BCIU. The goal of the drill was to show their drivers what would happen if a bus would be involved in an accident with students on board. Emergency crews were also able to evaluate their skills, in a controlled environment.
Area hospitals were also involved, evaluating their skills during a Mass-Casualty incident. The school district was also able to test their parental notification system.
The drill included the roll-over of a school bus with 14 injured students & a deceased bus driver. All students were removed and transported to area hospitals.
